A guitar capo doesn’t have a ‘sound‘, Larry.

Yes, I know a guitar capo is incapable of producing a ‘sound‘ on it’s own.  But it can definitely affect the sound of the guitar it is attached to!

I’m particular about my guitar tone.  So naturally I look for the best accessories I can find for my them.

I probably own at least one of every kind of guitar capo made; including roller types, pressure types, spring types, clap types, all made from various materials including rubber, plastic, wood, steel, aluminum, and brass.

They all affect the tone of the guitar differently.  Some completely ruin the tone of the instrument, and others marginally affect the tone.  But there is one of them that actually improves the tone of the instrument.

And the guitar capo with that unique attribute is the Solid Brass Guitar Capo Handmade by Vladya Ptacek in the Czech Republic .

My friend Andy Owens bought a few of these and gave them to me as a present many years ago.

I guard them carefully and with only one exception, I have never lent them out.

Today I found a source for these handmade jewels.

If you’re looking for great tone when using a Capo, look no further.

They’re pricey, but worth every penny.
